Have Birds of Prey visit your school and help to enhance your lessons. There are numerous subjects where flying and handling birds of prey can be used to demonstrate and support the theory of a lesson to inspire and engage your pupils.
These sessions can be as in depth as you require, from KS1 right up to, and including, KS5. We are happy to liaise with staff to tailor the lessons to suit your pupils.
“As teaching staff we would highly recommend this”
Greenhill School, Tenby
We can attend as many classes/lessons as you would like and use hawks, falcons and owls that both pupils and staff are able to handle and fly. Some of our birds are small enough for even very young pupils to handle and can be flown inside.
Example lesson plan
KS2 – The Owl that was Afraid of the Dark
To introduce owls as a topic and add excitement to your coming lessons. We bring a range of owls including ‘Plop’ the barn owl. All of our owls are able to fly inside a school hall, allowing the children to get a very close encounter and to demonstrate various owl traits. The lesson includes silent flight, owl vision and hearing, how they turn their heads and why and addresses nocturnal v diurnal birds. We also make sure that EVERY child has the opportunity to have an owl fly to them.
