Welcome to Rhydhowell Farm
Situated south of Boncath on the edge of the Preseli Hills, and the Pembrokeshire National Park, the farm extends to seventy-two acres; nearly a third of the land is semi ancient woodland.
Originally part of the Fynnone Estate, the house and buildings date back to the 1790’s, and have listed grade 2 status as the best example of a 18th century farmhouse in the area and around the farmstead are extensive wildlife gardens, ponds and waterfalls.
The nature trail takes you through twenty two acres of old woodland and through many different habitats. With names like Cwm Rhew-erwyll (Valley of frosts) and Cnwc-y-Perfedd (The mound of guts) it is easy to imagine you have gone back in time to when Celtic tribes inhabited these wooded hills.
The walk passes through a wildflower meadow that is a haven for butterflies, while dragon and damsel flies are often to be seen along the stream (Afon Dulas) which is also home to brown trout.
With many old trees, natural sculptures and fantastic views you can not fail to enjoy a walk along this captivating trail.
