When you arrive at the National Botanic Garden of Wales for your full day experience you can look forward to flying 8 of our different species of Birds of Prey and Owls. Other than a little guidance from a qualified falconer, it’s all about you flying the birds yourself.
Whether you are 2 or 92 you can be part of the fun. All of our birds are super friendly.
Your Falconry Experience
After you’ve got over the initial ‘wow’ of how amazing the gardens are where you will be flying, your personal falconer will get you all checked in ready to fly!
We’ll then introduce you to each bird in turn so you know who you’ll be flying. From the smallest, cutest owl to the large, impressive eagle, you’ll think you’ve seen it all, until our Turkey Vulture comes out to play!
The unique personality of each bird shines through more and more as you spend time with them. You’ll never want to say goodbye.
You’ll be flying from around 10am until 4pm and as it’s your family adventure, you decide how much you do and when it’s time for a break there is the cafe for a yummy lunch. New for 2017 we will also have a pit stop for a 30 minute flying display run by our wonderful sister company The British Bird of Prey Centre.
To make sure you get the perfect picture of you with your favourite bird, we take 100’s of photos. So the fun continues once you are back at home, as the photos arrive you can re-live your day step by step with the action shots of you flying all of your new friends.
